brushpen on wood.

well my mom is a 2nd grade teacher and asked me to come over to her classroom and doodle our favorite book characters into her book case. Except I forgot Splat the Cat ;-; I'm so ashamed.

This was so much fun cx and VERY nostalgic. sorry the picture is so crappy.

I saw My Father's Dragon in there!!
And David!
Wow, this is really great! But who is the dog at the bottom/middle of the second space? It looks familiar but I can't remember a name or anything.

Ohmygosh you know My Father's Dragon!? I just read the first one again recently. Such an amazing book. Because of that book I used to go into my backyard with a backpack full of food and hang out in the trees and pretend I was meeting all kinds of different animals.
Haha yes David is amazing.
Thank you! c: That dog is Larry, from Larry gets lost in Seattle (that's the one I have). There are a bunch of different versions, like Larry gets lost in Portland, New York, etc...

Yeah!!! I love those books! They had such an engaging story and the illustrations were delightful. Haha, I even have a pencil holder on my desk that I painted to look like the escape scene in the end of the first book. It's so cool to find someone else into it!
The style of the David books was always really interesting, and I was always amazed because he had sharp teeth, no idea why.
Has the creator of that ever worked on a kid's show or anything? I looked it up and I don't recognize the books, but the styling looks very familiar.

Yes! Aww that's so cute! They're totally underrated, they're way better than anything dr. seuss ever wrote, imo.
Haha yeah the art was adorable and the books are just hilarious. I remember reading them as a kid and just dying of laughter.
Yeah I don't know! I don't know the author's name or anything, I can see how it does look like it could be animated.

I do appreciate Dr. Seuss's work, but I do think I enjoyed My Father's dragon a lot more. Haha, I would try to get more of the younger kids I know into the books but I don't because my copy of the first book is falling apart so I'm reluctant to let anyone else even touch it.
Ahhh one day I'm going to have to check them out! The styling is amazing so if the author had any other work I'd love to look into that too.

haha same here. Oh yeah I still love Dr. Seuss, but some of his stuff is a little overrated I'd say. I really love his stories like McElligot's Pool where it really makes you use your imagination.
haha I know what you mean. I'm so stingy about my books now. I used to let my brother and my mom borrow my books and they came back kinda thrashed sometimes. Especially my copy of Catching Fire. When I had Suzanne Collins sign it she was like "wow this book has been around" cx

haha. I only added him cuz I needed a tall character to go into that space. I don't really like Cat in the Hat, he's kind of a jerk. cx

haha yeah some of his stories were weird. But I do LOVE McElligot's Pool and the King's Stilts. Those were always my favorites because they had a really good message.
